The Best Drugstore Matte Liquid Lippie. PERIOD!

I am a true stan of matte liquid lipsticks. think the creation of the matte liquid lippie was one of the best things to happen to makeup in recent history. Here's what I love about them:

  • Always photo ready - they last aaaalllll day! No need to touch up and reapply.

  • Color payoff is usually phenomenal! Particularly the reds, burgundy's, plums.

  • Adds a bit of old school glamour to any makeup look

HOWEVER (comma) as much as I love the concept of the matte liquid lippie, I have struggled with the formula of most of the brands out there. Here's what I don't like:

  • Can be really drying on the lips.

  • Tend to crack or peel.

  • Is sometimes sticky, not comfortable to wear

The pros and the cons aren't contingent on high end versus low end either. I have tried both and have run into some or all of these issues on both sides. But no more......

I have found the holy grail of matte liquid lippies! It's lightweight, creamy, highly pigmented, non drying, doesn't crack, long lasting and the best part??? It cost $4.99!!!!

I am talking about WET N' WILD MEGALAST LIQUID CATSUIT MATTE LIPSTICKS!!! There are 13 shades total. I purchased 5 of them; Give Me Mocha, the best pinky nude shade I've ever worn. Berry Recognize, a really pretty purply, pinky berry shade. Missy and Fierce....this color is everything I wish MAC's Ruby and RiRi Woo was! It's the perfect red, dries to a perfect matte, but not drying like the MAC colors. Goth Topic, a deep brown that is perfect for this time of year, when the makeup looks tend to be more warm and neutral. And last, but certainly not boo....Video Vixen. Moment of silence for VIDEO VIXEN chile! This. Color. Is. Ev-er-y-thing!! This sinfully sexy deep purple, with berry undertones, dries flawlessly and gives any makeup look just the right touch of vamp!

The pics below are Missy and Fierce and Video Vixen.. These are available at Walgreens. I think the availability is contingent upon the demographics of the area, so do what I did and use the "Find it in a store" option before you go running around looking for it. Of course, you can always get it from the Wet N' Wild site as well! Let me know what you think in the comments...are you a liquid lippie fan? H ave you tried this lippie? Will you give it a shot?
